Analysis of Expectations

Expectations have a way
when they're not being met
of changing how one views the day
or how one's mind is set

With expectations set too high
one cannot grasp the bar
though it may be visible
the distance is too far

Expectations should be
flexible, at best
prevents the disappointment
before it reaches crest

Not to lessen the importance
expectations are still needed
and it's always so delightful
when expectations are exceeded
