Analysis of Fading Light

Stars light the sky above
The lasting memory of your love,
Never can you return to me
Lost out in eternity.

Fading from my mind too fast
Your smile, voice and even laugh,
My life's light is much dimmer now
Without your love to show me how.

I promised you that I would move on,
A promise now broken for you are gone.
