Analysis of Gone

Emptiness, churning within,
trying so hard to fix this mess,
like a venomous bite bleeding out, wondering where my heart's been.
But, alas, I find myself alone,
how will I make it out
of this treacherous hole?
pulling me in, as if I'm made of stone.
Where will I be in the end?
up in beauty, or down in darkness?
Where is my faith? Where has it gone?
Pushing myself to find inside,
the pumping organ, pulsing, contracting,
telling myself it's still alive,
but knowing it's cold and hard,
betraying my soul by the way it's acting.
Emptiness, churning within,
trying so hard to fix this mess,
like a venomous bite bleeding out, wondering where my heart's been.
