Analysis of Journey Safely

All you left were tire tracks
The urge to leave was always in your eye
Journey safely my friend
As you finally feel free

The shackles will rust
In the tired town you left them
Journey safely in every new city's night
Journey safely through the red desert's light

Maybe this was the best way
To leave the past behind
though I know you're searching for something
You know you won't find

I know how the sadness got to you
A strange loneliness when you knew every face
I hope your broken pieces mend
as you leave this place

I still wish I could have said goodbye
Journey safely as you adventure on your own
And please journey safely my friend
When you're ready to come back home
