Analysis of Relief
Spiralled lighting streaks across the sky
Promises of rain tantalizingly sigh.
Thunder crackles intensify in tone.
The dry ground distinctly groans,
Parched and cracked it waits
Impatient for the wondrous gift of rain.
Motionless encrusted slate,
Screaming for a consecrated reprieve
But this day it will not receive
Relief from the scorching heat.
