Analysis of So Very Long

It's been so very long since I've used your quip
I wonder if you'll amuse like a comic strip.

It's been so very long since I've held your hand
I wonder if you'll rebound like a rubber band.

It's been so very long since I've read your mind
I wonder if you'll perplex like a double bind.

It's been so very long since I've found your love
I wonder if you'll wallop like a boxing glove.

It's been so very long since I've said your name
I wonder if you'll engage like a parlor game.

It's been so very long since I've gone your way
I wonder if you'll ambush like a bird of prey.

It's been so very long since I've felt your mood
I wonder if you'll placate like a comfort food.

It's been so very long since I've seen your face
I wonder if you'll behave like a basket case.
