Analysis of Two Sides of the Same Coin

The irony gets to me;
you have no idea
that we were coined
the exact same,
that we are each other’s
light and dark.
We must have been molded
together, for we are too alike
for it to be otherwise.
After you told me
your self-appointed fatal flaw,
I looked into a dirty mirror.
With the same weaknesses
and the same strengths,
we have come together
in what cannot be coincidence,
all of these things
cannot be anything but planned.
You have come down from a pedestal
of perfection, waded to me
with an air of humility,
and waited for my judgment,
my brain’s calculations,
when I had my own confession.
I can only hope that I will fall
to exactly your place,
and that you will not see
beyond what I am.
Let my good level out the evil,
so we can let go of incivility.
