Analysis of Under the moonlight

You say you are just a shell
Of the person you used to be
Since being with others, you fell
And was left to pick up the debris.

With thoughts that swirl in your head
You feel abandoned and left in the fields
Let me give you breath instead
Using my body as your shield.

Shielding you against the nippy gust of sorrow and pain
All the while laying under the moon
You start to release your chain
And not a minute too soon.

As the waves bust against the shore
Our bodies become like one
Giving to each other what we beg for
And enjoying every bit of the fun.

Debbie J. Brashears

Debbie J. Brashears was born on August 26, 1977, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She attended a public school through seventh grade and a private school to finish her education. She was unable to attend further education. Shortly after high school she had married and started a family and a business. When she was 21 years old, she closed the business after her husband had passed away. With life handing her lessons, she learned to laugh and live.Although she had a gift for dance, arts and crafts, and singing, poetry was her real passion. With her young child by her side, she went on to write many pieces such as "A Child Will Love Forever", "My American Flag", and "Tortured Soul". Her favorite quote: "Life is a dance. A poem is the way a person will put that dance into words for all to enjoy. Come dance with me. - Debbie J. Brashears" more…
