Analysis of Until the End

The heart is heaven, but the mind is hell.
Evil's broken in to the place I dwell.
Goodness comes, but in a matter of flashes.
The tree of humanity is now just a pile of ashes.

Jesus of Nazareth once told Damon of misery,
"It's time to lift yourself up from this debris".
So now it's time for you to pick a side.
Do you get off here or stay on for the ride?

Well, take my trouble and set them free.
It's time for me to swim in this freezing sea.
When I die I think I'll be dead for a while.
But is it around the corner or a few more miles?

I'm riding into town on a horse that's blind,
Like a fugitive hiding from mankind.
Does the light of God blind you, or lead the way?
As for me I think it's too soon to say.

You're hiding in the bushes and you're all alone.
Someone found you so you head back home.
Truth is dead, I watched you stab him in the eye.
Regret what you've so you just stay at home and cry.

Well, take my trouble and set them free.
It's time for me to swim in this freezing sea.
When I die I think I'll be dead for a while.
But is it around the corner or a few more miles?

I was stabbed in the back with your heir loomed knife.
It's cold edge was sharper than the night.
Love just ran away with morality.
Now they're lost sailors on life's rocky seas.

You just took your first bite of your mortalness.
It tasted like your problems baked inside a peasant's mess.
The preacher tries to see what he can set ablaze,
Forgetting all about God's golden praise.

Well, take my trouble and set them free.
It's time for me to swim in this freezing sea.
When I die I think I'll be dead for a while.
But is it around the corner or a few more miles?

You can paint an donkey blue and elephant red,
But that only helps the soul's famine spread.
Now you're carving out you future with a gun and an axe,
Trying your best to forget your acts.

I'll change my name to Charlie and shave my head.
Live in tropics 'til the day I'm dead.
I'm tired of driving life around in culdesac.
So I'm getting out of here and never looking back.

Well, take my trouble and set them free.
It's time for me to swim in this freezing sea.
When I die I think I'll be dead for a while.
But is it around the corner or a few more miles?
