Analysis of Translucence
My metaphor stares
At you in the eye,
With truth laid bare,
Strives for mutuality.
Yet you, like Narcissus
Stare back at me.
Mine eyes your pool
Searching fidelity.
You saw your self,
My absence unseen.
I, your Echo, neglected,
Stripped of esteem.
Abandoned, I haunt
The land of distrust.
You, chained to self-love,
I abide a fate unjust.
