Bee Sting

I wrote a letter to say goodbye,
Sold my soul to open my mind.
I played our song and let you go,
It’s the same song,
The same damn song that's stuck in my radio.

I burnt a photograph of you today,
Thought the flames would burn the pain away.
I built those walls back up to numb the sensation,
Cleaned up real good,
Only to find you stained in the foundation.

I ran miles just to clear my head,
Ran until my legs ached and soles bled.
I poured a drink to drown the sorrow,
Fell into a dream,
But even my dreams now seem hollow.

I made up stories so I could hate you,
Wore a smile and went on dates too.
I silenced the buzzing in my head!
But the fucker still stings,
Even when you think she's dead...
