SCHOOLDAYS
Piyush Padwale 2001 (Gulbarga)
Early morning the alarm rang,
I woke up with a bang,
Getting ready in a zoom,
Excited to go to classroom.
Morning assembly and prayer,
And believe it or not,
The principal’s a slayer,
Times when who impressed the teacher,
Was the biggest player.
Indoor or outdoor,
Playground, corridor, or floor,
We always had a game,
Where everyone has a crazy name,
That’s something which never became lame.
Doing crazy imitations,
A place with zero limitations,
Endless stupid situations,
And some secret infatuations.
Not just that, but so much more,
Talking about it is never a bore,
All the fun-time spent in school,
Is the hardest thing to score.
The place once you are out,
And I say this with no doubt,
When you remember the care-free days,
About the place where you forgot your fears,
Is surely going to bring you to tears.
Where we created endless memories,
Remembering them,
Is like walking in a place with
Beautiful cool breeze,
Always wishing for that time to freeze.
We always wished about going back,
Once again become a child,
And be that crazy maniac,
That you’ve left behind
But shall always be confined,
As a part of yourself
In the most special era of your life.
About this poem
Childhood....the most special period of a person's life and the place which makes it even more special is the school. We spent so many memorable years of our life with the most special people, creating endless memories as we carry forward in life's journey. Here's a small attempt at taking you back to those beautiful days, revisit your inner lost child, whose been left behind but trust me, it shall always be a part of yourself. Just can say "Days that have passed but memories last a lifetime. " more »
