Midnight Sky Dreams
Once upon a time under the midnight sky
I dreamed of wondrous places to run
reaching high into the sky never thinking why.
Nothing could be felt except air and dark emptiness.
For after all, night can sometimes be an empty abyss
if not for the stars and moon sometimes reflections amiss.
So I dream of places with color and sweet fragrance
red flowers with sweet aromas coaxing bees to dance.
Green leaves, grasses, birds, butterflies, sounds of the world awake, privy to natures aesthetics and song, endless mountains, rivers and lakes.
The shadows of time start to break loose, daylight peaks filling the void of dark silence ushering in warmth that leaks. Sunlight once more, shadows of time waiting to disappear again, waiting til night creeps in and takes over where light had lain.
The starry night and moon welcomes the midnight sky and beckons again to fragrances lingering in the cooler air, as they slowly begin to fade. Once upon a time under the midnight sky, eclipsing light, dreams are made.
