Pe
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Your manifest is wonderful,
So therefore my soul will keep them;
Because You are so powerful,
Compassionate not to condemn.
Revealing of Your Word gives light,
It imparts to understanding;
Enabled for bringing insight,
With an ease for comprehending.
I opened up my mouth to pant,
In longing for your commandment;
As some take a deceptive slant,
That causes a misalignment.
Turn to me and be merciful,
As in Your way with those who love;
Knowing your grace is bountiful,
As Your blessings flow from above.
Keep steady my steps in Your Word,
Let no wickedness dominate;
Only guided as I have heard,
That has come from what You mandate.
Redeem me from the oppression,
So that I may keep Your precepts;
Avoiding sinful obsession,
Of any immoral concepts.
Make Your face shine on my soul,
While teaching me Your statutes;
So that You help me to control,
For producing abundant fruits.
My eyes are shedding streams of tears,
For people who keep not Your Law;
About You they not having fears,
Not caring about any flaw.
