Darkness that enters
All those days fighting for control
Those demons one two three for five six seven eight
Attempting to inhibit this living corpse
Not just voices in my head but chains yanking to the left
As I tugged to the right desperately fighting for life
They forced me down into the ground
Kicking and screaming to let me go
They said no no
Tonight you are mine
Id pray so loud in my heart but the words would not come out
Their hands on my neck twisting it to death
The ringing so loud I could not catch a breath
At school Id look around wondering where they went
If anyone saw what hanged on me
Escaped to church thinking to find sanctuary
There they waited voices welcoming
I knew it felt wrong, like a dream, zombies lurking around
Vision of this in the past too late to understand
For years this battle goes on
Some days light others so strong
Losing all sense at the sound of their drums
The damage they caused like a sirens song
Their whispers so sweet, seduced by whitened teeth
But the darkness ensued and their motives came true
Sunken deep into the pits of their lair
My life on the brink and I didn’t care
Left me to rust in this darkness a bust
Soon they freed me only to return, saw I was cleaner
My time was stolen all these years feeling broken
They piled up on me a debt I could not erase
Tarnished my name as if death would be my only escape
To this day, ill pray for God to chase them away
Even then, they still come back, looking again, for their universal prey.
