Wasting Time

Free verse
Where is the justice when no one is at fault,
And a life is tragically wasted?

We all look for a paradigm,
But no one's looking in.
Heavy breathing all our platitudes away.

The better parts of living
are lambasted by our minds.
Blind eye judging the blind hand.

But the smallest void is calling,
Locked deep within the truth.
Your conscience is slowly degraded.

About this poem

This poem is inspired by the song "Billy" by Bad Religion. Its about drugs and how addiction can take you away from what you know is right and can convince you that where you are is better than where you'll ever be. The longer you struggle with that, the more it becomes true.
