My Hero
Yeshiembet/Yeshi Gemaneh 1940 (Harar)
My mother who shaped me
To what I am now is my hero
She raised me bruised free mind
That helped me to resist mid-life crises
She taught me to pick flowers not weeds
That helped me to be decisive
She dressed me with gold embroidered garment
That helped me to walk straight without bending
Her admiration of my look was over stated
Even when I walked with sandal – she adored me
That helped me to encourage and love others
Her praise helped me to rise and song of triumph
That I replicate it to those who love to listen
