Cup of tea
Cup of tea
She Liked black tea
Four sugars, and a lot of liquid love
She walked as if this tea was all she needed to be content
The world was lifted by the warm updrafts of her tea
For those minutes she was truly at peace
She smiled hope into tomorrow
Hugged strength into bones that felt like
Breaking, if her presence was gone
Spoke sage wisdom waiting for it
To plant knowledge into open minds
All that, while sitting on a
Old wooden bench, time could not break it
Decay, never conquered it
What a perfect place to have tea
I know tea is not the most appealing thing in the world
It is one thing that takes her memory
Turns them into an object I can touch
That makes you live again
If not for a few minutes
But, I know you are no longer with us
At least I have two, cups of tea
Black, four sugars
Sitting on her bench
Your ghost telling me all your stories
For these few minutes
Grief is
No
