What is Love?
Some say it’s where you blush around someone.
Others say it’s when you would do anything for them.
Some even say that it’s where you sacrifice anything for them.
Most say it’s when both people care deeply for each other.
Movies show the love where both are single.
Very few talk about love when someone is dating someone else.
Although, that is the love that hurts the most.
It leaves your heart broken.
It leaves your soul hurting.
It leaves your heart doing cartwheels around them.
It leaves your mind longing for them.
It leaves you scared of what would happen if they found out.
It leaves you blinded from everything around you.
It leaves your imagination running rampant
As if playing with a brand new toy.
For some, they become closer with their crush,
Hoping that they’d notice them.
Although, they end up comparing themselves to their competitors.
It causes you to sink into the pit of depression.
It breaks you down over time,
Tearing at your confidence,
Turning your self-love to self-hate.
It will continue to harm you until you satisfy it,
In some cases, they give up,
They lose hope,
They lose the will to live.
I should know,
For I’m being torn apart from the inside.
Hating myself for loving them.
They’re happy and smiling,
While I’m wearing a fake one.
Wishing that selfish wish,
That something might happen between them and their partner.
