Moonlit Night
Joy Zito Dovel 1946 (New York)
Night of moon and sea
She laid her eggs in the sand
Tired she dove deep
About this poem
This HIAKU is about a sea turtle I encountered on a beach in Florida one moonlit night. The night was also full of mosquitoes which were biting me but I couldn't leave her. It was too wonderful to see.
