Ghost Writer

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Your skin is as white as fresh fallen snow
And when I write you get the flow
You come and sit and take dictation
The doctor now becomes the patient

You need a new prescription pad
You need to hear it from your Dad
And not just when my lips speak
It is God’s face you need to seek!

The rest I’m leaving up to you
I know you’ll do what you must do
Now write in love with much reproof
And never ever spare the truth

When you go out it will be night!
So, don’t forget to do what’s right!
To keep your skin as white as snow
Don’t fall in bed with the sin you know!
