Your Friend
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
I don’t have a single friend
A friend that I can count on
A friend I know that has my back
A friend I can’t run out on
Every man is a liar.
And a woman; take that times two
She not only lies to herself
But delights in lying to you
She doesn’t care about you
She just cares about her image
And when you go to war with her
You will not win that scrimmage
A man will go to war with you
And kill you if he can
But women will demoralize you
And make you wish she had
I think the latter is better
Because then at least you’re dead
And not left with her wicked words
Still ringing in your head!
