Mother by your side

I did not appreciate

How much mothers do love

That which they have given life

They are a blessing from above

I watch in amazement

As they handle every single task

Always knowing it must be done

But for glory a mother doesn’t ask

Crying eyes never stay wet

For mother is surely there

Teaching not to fret

Emotional movement

From infant to child

Mothers are always ready

To meet them with a smile

Teaching them to grow up

How to manage life’s little things

Always there reminding them

To live their life, realize their dreams

She keeps them in her heart

Always knowing, growing and showing

Mothers are simply smart

They seem to be all knowing

For they do things

We would never think of

Not out of knowing

But purely out of love

They direct our little children

Keep them in our way

Tend to their every need

Each and every single day

Their children become young adults

And ask if they can go

She takes them with her

Never wanting to let go

She wrestles their maturity

Freedom, friends and flight

Hoping that when they fly

They’ll remember a mother’s plight

Ever since the day you were born

She’s always been at your side

Remembering how you did grow up

With mother by your side

She wishes you were there

Even though you are grown

Because in life’s biggest way

Your mother was a mother of your own
