The Resurrection of the Dead
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Christ had been raised from the dead,
The first fruits who fell asleep;
The salvation they were fed,
Making them obedient sheep.
For as by a man came death,
Also comes resurrection;
Since they lost a mortal breath,
God gives a new direction.
For as in Adam all die,
Through Christ all are made alive;
Some doubters may wonder why,
Only a few will survive.
But each person in order,
Knows that Christ was the first fruit;
Through the baptismal water.
They are able to take root.
Then will come unto the end,
Earth is delivered to God;
Destroying what does offend,
And everything that is flawed.
He will reign till He has cast,
All His foes under His feet;
Enemies gone to the last,
As death will be their defeat.
Because God has put all things,
Subjection under His feet;
Everything that darkness brings,
To their fate for their deceit.
And when all things are subdued,
Then the Son is subjected;
As the chosen are renewed,
As being His elected.
