MASTERPIECE
An empty canvas awaiting to be filled
With colors and shades
Rests on a easel
Gazing At the whitened sky.
As it's sketched and portrayed
To an uncertain draft,
The lesions glints with blue.
The stolid brushes soared
And glides over with opaque white.
The palette enchants spells,
Blending paints and fervours.
The sketch is now suffused
With tints of wishes and reveries.
It was a sheer masterpiece,
With veiled lacuna.
The piece evinced: the rain without colours
will eventually end with an rainbow.
I came to senses
I had forgetton to blink
and was pulled into
The world of expressionism.
About this poem
Masterpiece is a poem about expressionism art. It depicts metanoia (the journey of changing one's mind) and resilience(the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.) Here,The painter(person)who waits for her world to be filled with bright colours starts to draw a draft painting to restart her life from her trauma. She blends the paints and emotions, covers her scars and veils the voids that caused her the grief. But the irony is that everything that happened was just a daydream to a certain girl who was in a trance. ..after this epiphany she is ready to face new emotions whether sadness or happiness and bring them into her life. Cause, there is always a good thing coming right after the bad thing. After all Expecting the unexpected....and facing challenges is what make life interesting isn't? That's why the genre of this poem is 'slice of life and art'. more »
