Motherhood

                                  Motherhood
                         (Carmi Lucille C. Fortaliza)

My world has changed when I become a mother
Adjustments been made for the sake of my son and daughters
Starting from the moment I wake up
Doing a lot of chores hoping I have a back up
Things after another starts to pile up
Made my mind seemed to lock up

I don’t even have the time to relax or to rest
Everything needs to be done with all my best
The dishes need to be washed
Oh wait…. I need to throw the trash

The baby starts to cry
I should hurry and leave what I’m doing with a sigh
I forgot I need to cook
And everything seems messy as it looks
That’s fine because the baby comes first
And everything else comes next

Staring at my little one with love
Mind filled with happy thoughts from up above
So precious this time I have with my baby
Spending all my days extraordinarily

Hoping not it will end so fast
But you my dear, will grow as much
One day you won’t need me
To fix your toys or heal your wounded knee
You my love and your siblings
Are the best to ever happen to me

The house looking messy is a normal sight
So long as you’re all safe by my side
Life will never be the same as it was
But it’s way too better from the one I had
This motherhood I would say is my gift
No other life I would spend than this
That God has bestowed me with.
