The Shadows

Isaac Pitts Jr 2004 (Valdosta)

The shadow watches me as I sleep it watches me in my dreams
It protects me from what lurks in the dark
It’s there for me when I'm lonely, It's there for me when I need company
The shadow is there when I was bullied there when I am hurt
There when I have gone to my limit
The shadow has always been there for me
Even when everyone has turned their back on you you’d stay
You are my shadow you are a part of me
You are me and I am you
I am the shadow  and the shadow I will always be
Even when the world brings me down to my knees
There's gonna be something behind me something that brings me up
We all have a shadow
whether we know it or not, embrace it or ignore it
Are shadows could be our personality, obsessions, or passions
I rather be in the dark than the light because I know you’ll be there
For me, a shadow is just what I am and what I will  end up being which  is the shadow
