Praising the King
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Oh sing to the Lord a new song,
For He has done marvelous things;
In singing all day and night long,
For all the great goodness He brings.
His right hand and His holy arm,
In giving me His salvation;
Keeping me from all forms of harm,
And made me a new creation.
His salvation has made Him known,
As He revealed His righteousness;
That only He could do alone,
For making a whole nation confess.
He remembered His steadfast love,
His mercy and truth round the earth;
His salvation comes from above,
Those with faith are given new birth.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord,
In joyous song singing praises;
Show that He is loved and adored,
Show how much He amazes.
Melody sounding from a harp,
Trumpet sound coming from a horn;
A joyful song sung from the heart,
Giving new life as I sojourn.
Let the sea roar all that it fills,
The world and all of those who dwell;
His Word that the Lord instills,
Making the evilness expel.
Let the rivers fill the valleys,
Uplifted songs that the mountains sing;
The blessings are flowing daily,
Allowing the praises to cling.
For He returns to judge the earth,
Judging the world with righteousness;
Judgment on each for their true worth,
For their dignified graciousness.
