The Me I See
I look in the mirror and what do I see.
The face of a person, who is supposed to be me.
Am I expected to always look this way
Because this isn't the face that I saw yesterday
Smiles, cries, happy or sad
Is just a small portion of what this face has had.
Sometimes I stand and just stare at this face
And I wonder, haven't I seen this face another place.
Let's take a walk down memory lane, and it will explain why this face never looks the same.
Long hair. short hair, and finger waves so crisp
Look again and this image has taken another twist
Sometimes you'll see make-up and it looks so pretty, then there's busted lips and black eyes, oh what a pity.
From all the different changes that this face has been through, don't take a walk in my shoes, just stay being you. I look in the mirror and what do I see. No matter what this face has been through, it still equals me.
