The Path

Melissa R. Meeks 1978 (Florida)

I saw the path,
The path I saw was clear,
I had everything planned perfect,
For all of us my dear.

The path looked smooth and sunny,
Not a dark cloud in the sky,
I was so excited for the journey,
I let all my worries pass on by.

Yet now my worries claim me,
All day and now all night long,
I am ravished with every passing minute,
That the path I chose was wrong.

My worries will not claim me,
My doubts are not my strength,
I will continue on my journey,
I will thrive it's entire length.

Stand in judgement if you must,
For I do not fear to say,
If this path is truly not for me,
I will always find another way.
