Whisper of Frost
Crystalline white snow on turf,
Crisping crunched beneath feet,
As we walked the way,
Out of the blue, they whispered,
That our shadows danced in
Quirky shapes like an elated bae.
They faintly whispered
To see across the lake,
Where enthusiastic & heedful skaters,
Flew to and fro,
Making sharp turns,
Weaving through runs,
Kneading frail invisible buns.
Now they whispered louder,
"Thou drown in the ecstasy of earth,
Like the skaters drowned in speed.
Thou bath in glimmery sunlit,
Just like thy soul warbles creed & reed.
Do thou hear the music of elan,
Does it not sound like the cathedral of Milan?
Thou drink wine from peaceful envoy and drench in bouts of joy.
Sit on a black bough,
Like a snow-flecked maple,
Learn about ranges of bliss & ecstasy of lover's kiss."
Biting wind gushed through my hair,
Strangely it felt like an affectionate hear,
Covering me in the earthy and misty air,
Unconsciously my eyes closed in blissful flair.
But wait,
No, real,
This can't be real,
What happened now,
Is it just an artic attack of snow
Or is it my heart's plough?
