Climate change & the human race
The winds blow stronger and the waters rise,
As our planet's health continues to decline.
We've pushed too far, and now we pay the price,
For ignoring nature's warning signs.
We've taken too much, we've consumed it all,
Trees felled, animals lost, a massive toll.
Our actions have led to a fragile state,
And now it's too late to simply wait.
But still we resist, refuse to believe,
That we play a role, in what we receive.
We search for excuses, make excuses to hide,
Denying the damage, for which we're to bide.
The time is now, to act, to unite,
And turn the tide, before it's too late to fight.
We must learn to live in harmony with earth,
And protect its balance, for what it's worth.
The future is ours, to shape and to hold,
To be the guardians, as stories are told.
Of a race that rose, from the ashes of time,
And saved their planet, one step at a time.
