The Pain Of Love

Linda Freeman 1963 (Montgomery, AL)

When you just can't seem to understand it. It's so hard to find TRUE love but when you do, hold on to it tightly. The pain of love is no game but sometimes misunderstood when times are hard and things seem to crumble all around you.  You hold your head up and keep on fighting for what is right. Believe with your heart, not what people say. Don't be afraid, just stay in there because God will see you through it. No matter how hard it gets, no matter what it looks like, you will make it.
The pain of love has to be TRUE love. The kind of love that never stops running. It will always run through whatever pains come your way. You, my friend, just have to stay in there until the pain of love has run its race until the end.

About this poem

This was written January 7, 2003 by me when I was going through my pain of love but then God gave me also a worship song in my spirit and healed my heart. This poem is very dear to me because God gave it to me when I was at my lowest. The song is, " I wanna be all that I am for God. I wanna be all that I am for Christ. I want to serve him faithfully, be what he wants me to be, a servant till the end." Those were some deep dark sad times for me but God helped me through it.

I grew up in a small country town name Autaugaville, Alabama, and at an early age. I began to write about my life growing up in the country, and things that I experienced as a child. My dad taught me how to ride my first motorcycle and many other things. We lived on a farm. The farm life was so interesting. My dad and grandfather had many farm animals. We also planted many vegetables, and I even picked cotton back then. I grew up when they still had out houses to use as bathrooms. Life was hard but getting better. Family were very close back then. I learned the importance of working hard and loving what you do and to never quit in life. I later got married to a pastor, and we had 3 beautiful children. Unfortunately, my husband passed at an early age of cancer, and I was left a widow raising 3 children alone. I did not know God was preparing me for things that were to come my way. I now know my purpose in life, and it is to be a servant to the Lord. I am today a minister since 2002, where I and my late husband were teachers of youths in our church, and I also work in the medical field to help take care of the sick in need. I job I love doing since 1999. I do enjoy writing, it helps me to meditate and hear God speak to me. It also refreshes me and gives me such a great joy! I found my peace and my strength in God. I often share my love for Christ and God with others daily. My purpose here is to lead by example from God and show love. I am a compassionate woman and believe in God. I love helping people. I do enjoy the out doors. I used to play sports, basketball, volleyball, and boxed in my youth years. I also loved drama classes where I loved acting. I love to sing and write beautiful words of love and life ups and downs. more…
