We shall gather once again

We shall gather once again,
In this place where darkness reigns.
When what lies beneath this river,
Stirs and awakens with a shiver.

Reanimates and regenerates,
A ghastly sight that fascinates.
Fret not on the proposition,
Of body-less, bloodless disposition.

For in death we find new life,
A transformation without strife.
The ability to defy gravity,
Is the whole point of decomposition.

As flesh and bone decay,
Our spirits ascend and stray.
The void we leave behind,
Is filled with maggots and grime.

But fear not the decay,
For it is just a display.
Of the cycle of life and death,
The ebb and flow of our breath.

So let us embrace the darkness,
And revel in its starkness.
For when we gather once again,
We shall be reborn with incorruptible skin.
