My Teacher
My teacher is an incapacitated soldier
whose bark is worse than its bite
disarmed of all his discipline paraphernalia
my teacher can only bark and go
Students no longer kneel down in class
Doctor says kneeling offsets heart seizure
teachers no longer can send students on errands
'it lowers self-esteem' says one psychological doctor
and 'they aren't in school to be messengers' another punctuated.
male teachers can no longer counsel his female students
"that might break her hymen" said the ego-filled boss
looking discontentedly furious under her framed glasses
My teacher doesn't love what he does
but keeps doing it
living from hand to mouth,
he begs alms to seek his sick salary
my teacher is a pseudo rabid dog whose bark
never terrorizes anyone
but a subject of ridicule and laughter to students
My teacher doesn't understand his rights
he doesn't receive an appointment letter before coming to class
lesson allowances delayed till further notice
or never paid as compensation for her inglorious exit
my teachers are spite by the fruits of their sweats.
My teacher cannot dress as she likes
so she can suit the taste of the school not her students'
but can my teacher cut off the shooting box at her back when married to the board?
or sever her voluptuous bullies
fighting helplessly with the cover to see daybreak
not hidden by the most modest means?
My teacher is a jungle cheetah
residing in the page of a book
its vicious teeth are the imaginative painting of the artist
my teacher is a painted snake
whose fangs are dashes of ink
My teacher is a tool in the hand of exploiters
my teacher fulfills the wishes of high-profile men
while he hid his in a dark haven
where the eyes of any ray has not reached
my teachers never knew they had potentialities
until the employers need them to build his
but they end up jettisoned
like the cargos that offset the sin of Jonah
Upon the slightest err
The reward of my teacher they say is in heaven!
