On the Web

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Wearing the mask; you’re not up to the task,
I watch as you stumble and fall.
I wanted to ask as I sipped from my flask,
Why you can’t keep your eye on the ball?

A swing and a miss; many swings without hits.
Though you practice it never gets better.
Now the rain pouring down; its enough you could drown.
But the field that you’re on just gets wetter.

I’m calling the game on account of the rain;
The lightning and dark clouds excite her!
But before she got squished she got all she wished;
As she sucked out your blood like a spider.
