Death of a Romantic
Abi Lawton 2005 (Charlestown)
I want you to stab me in the chest and watch as i bleed
Though my death might not be certain guaranteed
I want to kiss you and for you to hold me when i die
But when I'm gone,
Please tell me you won't cry
I want you to cut into my veins and pull me all apart
I want you to rip out and consume my heavy heart
drink my blood and eat my teeth
watch as I go underneath
i want you to know that you take my breath away
‘cause i fantasize about you brutally murdering me every single day
I want you to grab my hips
and then poison me with your lips
your touch, it feel like fire
but this love
only holding by a wire
I want you to take my head
maybe then I'll be dead
i hope you'll understand
that i want you to take my hand
cut it off and keep forevermore
but make sure the blood out it wont pour
I hope you understand that you take my breath away
cause fantasize about you brutally murdering me every single day
My ideal way to go will be the product of my pain
my loss will also be my gain
run and hide
dont go outside
and hide your pretty face
I want you to hide my body from the world
our fingers, intertwined and curled
my blood pooling around my resting frame
i hope you know that you're not the one to blame
you should know you have taken my breath away
and i fantasize about you brutally murdering me every single day
About this poem
I wrote this poem because I wanted a more graphic love story than the ones that I've read and I couldn't find anything I liked
