The Bond

The Bond
By Nancy Rodriquez

The bond which never breaks,
is the one between intimate persons,
it is powerful, can do whatever it takes,
when they know without a doubt they've found
the one,
Once the bond is in place, there is no going back,
and some people refuse to see things this way,
For you and me, this is our situation, the facts,
I will go on loving you all day,
and you will search for another to roam and play,
as if our love did not mean anything,
it is a good thing we never exchanged rings,
though you remain in my heart for all time,
and I have cried out all there is to cry,
as you may not give me another thought,
I wish I was still the first thing on your mind,
the closure is something hard to find.
