Soul: Token for Love
I've fallen, before I could even discern that I'm unequivocally in love with you
There's nothing left I can do as my sanity is already consumed by you
And I'm helpless at your feet, if I were to confess the truth
For even before I realise, I have always been choosing you
This devotion is what they acknowledge as forbidden passion
But to be conveyed by clauses and phrases are not worthy of its expression
Peerless to be compared to the river-flow like emotion
You are, alone, the treasure that weighs more than any culture and religion
They say the skies the limit for those who dreamt of impossibility
So I’ll fight for you even if it means to wage a war against the great god of destiny
If the equivalent of what's commited is to burn in hellfire for eternity
Then my soul is bound to be set on fire as what I feel for you knows no boundary
Should you be considered or perhaps compared to a minister?
Since the words you spell with your tongue comes out as sacred as prayer
If I were to commit an unforgivable sin, you'll be the temptation, that's for sure
For the holiness of your features is what my mind only conjure
Who cares if I'm to be accused of worshipping a false God and told to be misguided?
Who cares if the serenity I've found in you will drive people livid?
Their acceptance is unnecessary, but your saving is what I needed
Does God really oppose when I say 'Heaven is what it's like to be in your presence’, or does society just forbid it?
About this poem
I wrote this specifically for the person that I love. We could’ve made it, but we didn’t.
