Warping Of Words

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

Warping Of Words

The sound of a black hole is ominous
A sonic drain on space and time
Sucking in relevant matter
Towards the event horizon
Light cannot escape
A irrecoverable point of no return.

The warping of words occurs like this
Attention seeking entertainers
Styling themselves as poets
Shamelessly write and speak
Quotes or gibberish
And spew vomit into air on us.

The art of poetry is made mockery
Facsimiles of verse do not elevate
Nor do they enlighten the mind
Hearts are shoveled a sham
A scam of ramblings so perverse
They are a transparent joke.

It’s uncomfortable to sit through
The creation of crappy lines
On subjects that deserve better
Inevitably they find the black hole
Never to see the light of day
Words are wheels not to be wasted.
