Communications of the heart...
Denise Pillay 1991 (Port Shepstone)
In the hush of midnight's embrace, profound,
Where whispered secrets softly resound,
Heartbeats sync like a lover's dance,
Communications of the heart commence.
A symphony of longing takes its flight,
Cravings unfurl in the pale moonlight,
Desire courses through veins like fire,
A primal urge, an untamed lyre.
A language of sensation, pure and wild,
Unfurls within, like a yearning child,
In every touch, in each stolen glance,
The heart bares its passions, takes its chance.
Yet within the tempest of lustful fire,
Lies a battle within, a hidden mire,
For the heart's messages, so crystal clear,
Are often tangled in doubt and fear.
It suffers silently, in shadows cast,
Enduring pains that eternally last,
Misunderstood by minds that cannot hear,
The heart's secret language, crystal clear.
With every beat, it sings its song,
A melody of desires, right and wrong,
Yet the world, it seems, remains aloof,
To the heart's fervent, unspoken truth.
So it carries on its silent plea,
Hoping that someday the world will see,
That beneath the surface, beyond the pain,
The heart's communication is not in vain.
In the depth of yearning's sacred art,
Lies the language of the human heart,
Pure and lustful, it dares to dream,
Of understanding's golden gleam.
