when skies turned gray

it seemed like another sunny day
suddenly, the sky turned gray
i was heading home,
walking along the sidewalks
raindrops forced me to pick up the pace
luckily, i stumbled upon a clear umbrella
conveniently waiting
to shield me from the pouring rain
for a brief moment, i felt a sense of relief
but despite the shelter
i was already drenched,
yet i continued walking,
frighten, of course
tightly gripping the umbrella's shaft
as i watched the raindrops relentlessly battering
the poor and fragile canopy
which reminded me of my mom
always attempting to protect me
regardless of eminent storms.

About this poem

In this poem, I recall a moment from my own life when the weather took an unexpected turn. It started as a typical sunny day, but suddenly the sky turned gray and rain began to pour. I was on my way home, walking along the sidewalks, when the raindrops forced me to quicken my pace. Luckily, I came across a clear umbrella that seemed to be waiting just for me, offering a momentary relief from the downpour. However, despite taking shelter under the umbrella, I was already soaked through. Nevertheless, I kept walking, feeling a sense of fear creeping in. I tightly held onto the umbrella's shaft, watching the rain relentlessly battering its fragile canopy, which brought to mind the image of my mother always trying to shield and protect me, no matter the storms that came our way.
