Studies Trail

The wended path of shaded ferns
traces the softened edges
urging muted reflections
mired in thought and form.
Furrowed ruts along the muddied trail
overfilled by rain unfold,
burgeoning to the fragile lives within,
while low hanging branches stir
into the steamy air
sharing their soggy burden,
urgently rippling the murky pools
with the fragrant spoils of the deluge.
Dampened rustlings amid the leaves
cause stagnant pools shiver,
to where silent lives quicken
as if to only end the same,
hazily fathoming primal secrets
of just one season.
Tirelessly the sodden trail winds on silently,
footworn as before,
to where we have emerged
befallen to the disguised power
of the remote passage.
