Waiting At Home

I am safely home in heaven
there is perfect joy and peace
I can hear the angles singing
and here they never cease.

All my pain and sorrow is over
and my eyes are clear and bright
I can see things that were hidden
in this incessant light.

The colors are magnificent
the streets are made of gold
The gates are made of pearl
and the rivers are never cold

You know I had to leave you
for just a little while
But hold onto your memories
and they will make you smile

We can't change what has happened
but you can change what will be
Try to look beyond the shadows
to a place where I am free

You have to face tomorrow
in this time and place
You are a mirror of God's mercy
and a picture of His grace

You were placed upon the Earth
with all His other kids
To do the will of God
you were chosen you are His

When things seem too hard to do
and life is impossible and strange
Remember that He loves you
and that will never change

God still has work for you to do
on this earth for you alone
But I am watching and I am waiting
for the time He will call you home

And when all your work is finished
and your earthly chores are through
I will be the first to greet you
I will be waiting for you.
