How about instead
I bring you close until I
understand it

About this poem

Parting a non speaking child with sever autism is a challenge. Often it feels like we are tiptoeing around him trying so hard not to set him off. But all I want to know is why, why does he get so upset at some things and not others? Why are some sounds so triggering? I want there to be another way.
