Girl Gone

My girl gone. I let go. You are young and I am old.
I used my heart instead of my brain. I was selfish I dreamt of two hearts as one.
But you my girl gone deserved the best, full of life, happiness and energy. I old, grey and made weary by the passing through of the years that crushes the spirit.
You with a smile and laugh that could light up a hundred cities.
My eyes open at last to the truth. A truth you knew from the beginning. You deserving  of love and happiness. I forfeit mine for yours.
You are young and I am old.
My  girl gone,  my attention you never wanted. I let go. Gone be my longing glances, and approaching you to speak, the things  that  but made your skin crawl.
A Christmas party to come but fear not and enjoy as I shall not be there to ruin your comfort. No Christmas mistletoe for us.
It maybe thought by some I liked you simply as you are the most beautiful of angels, yet as I care so deeply I let you become my  girl gone.

So, I beg of you my girl gone, spread your angel wings and fly!
