Soulmates' walking piece of art
Mitee Patel 2006 (Ahmedabad)
I felt a tight knot forming
right into my abdomen,
But also felt the comfort of your presence which always used to put me at ease..
Guess it still does..
Judging by the drooping shoulders of mine,
That were like a second ago as stiff as a body stuck in an icy frost.
As soon as i saw you entering the space.. after the months of silence that felt like an eternity.
I saved myself from losing the hold of that Smile of Mine
which your mother once praised me of...
Not to mention her admirance for the shine in my eyes
अब इन्हें कौन बताए..
That the glint only came within..
when her जिगर का टुकड़ा was around.
Before I could even figure out if these thoughts were delusions or deja vuz..
my attention was quickly shifted
to the only roaming eyes..
that once gleamed upon me while handing over the irish daisies to me this one time
Picked freshly by you from the
field of dandelions
It seemed like the wondering eyes in the room were getting eager to find something..
Or rather someone..
Losing patience..
Second by second...
And then..
Finally resting on mine.
Just then the space filled up with scandalous energy
As my lips' edge curved into a slight nudge..
Letting go of the smile that I was holding back for a long time..
As to give response to the already formed crescent on your face.
And at that very moment..
An unexpected realisation came within both of our hearts...
Of people not being totally wrong about the time when they called us the precedent of being the soulmates' walking piece of art.
