Good bye for now

Goodbye-For-Now 1975 (West Virginia)

As you climbed the stairs to heaven
I watched from down below,
Each step faded as you passed
And I knew I couldn't go.
My tears are fogging up my eyes
As time was standing still,
A hole was forming inside my heart
That none could ever fill.
You turned around and waved once more
With his shine of amazing grace,
I seen the peace inside your smile,
As you entered that sacred place.
I then said with a shattered soul
It's only Goodbye-for-now sweet Mom,
I too will climb those magic stairs
When my work on earth is done.
