Memory

Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)

January 24

I wish I could plant a forest
where every tree is a memory
that we share.
mostly good and not bad.
then you and I
can live there
off the grid,
just us,
living amongst ourselves
and every moment
that made us smile.

Agreed! The poem kind of reminds me of Pope’s “Ode on Solitude”.

The imagery this poem conjured won my vote. What a beautiful dream to live off the grid with someone to love in a forest of only the happiest shared memories..
