A short walk

That little black boy
Who walked down the street
Earphones in
But with a eye so keen
He saw the sirens flash in the window ahead
But surely he didn’t know he’d be ending up dead
That little black boy
Who walked down the street
Never knew
That’d be the day him and god meet
That little black boy
Who begged for his life
While his family soon to be met
With pain and strife
That poor little black boy
Taken away from his black joy
That poor little boy
He was just a boy
Held down and restraint
All because he walked
Driven by the saints
